“I have lived most of my life in the Michigan and grew up in Dearborn where I played sports throughout high school and college. In the fall of 1978 I learned the importance and benefits of chiropractic first hand. That summer I had been injured in a boating accident and spent six months in horrible pain. I had to give up sports because I couldn’t stand up straight. During winter break my best friend from childhood returned to Dearborn from Georgia where he was attending Chiropractic College. He saw how much pain I was in and how I was suffering. He explained to me how chiropractic could help me and he made an appointment with his chiropractor for me. As a pre-med student I was skeptical but was willing to try anything to get rid of the pain and get my life back. In less than a month’s time I was pain free and standing up straight and back to playing sports again! After experiencing the benefits of chiropractic, the following fall I was enrolled in and attending Life Chiropractic College in Georgia. As they say, the rest is history.”

My Story...

Hi I’m Doctor Richard Johnson D.C. ,My Story begins in Dearborn where I was raised. I was a very active kid with interests in Sports. I was very active in Baseball , football, snow and water skiing .  After graduating from Edsel Ford High School.   I was attending Henry Ford Community College  and the University of  Michigan enrolled in the pre-med program. One summer  a bunch of friends and I had gone water skiing up north. In a freak accident  I was injured. I had severe back pain and could barely stand up. This went on for almost 6 months  when a friend of mine had been attending chiropractic college in Georgia came back for vacation and invited me to come down and see him in the warmer weather.  While visiting him I decided to let him look at my back in the student clinic … after all I had been seeing my medical doctor and just taking pain pills but the pain was not getting any better. I would wake up in pain and go to bed in pain.

My friend did a complete exam and took  x-rays then showed me on the film where my back was yanked out of place in the accident and causing nerve irritation which was causing my pain. He said the good news was that he could help me… after the first adjustment I could stand  up straight and barely had any pain .  Then after returning to Michigan I found a local chiropractor and continued treatments  within 3 months I was completely pain free. I felt great and it was then I knew I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!  I  changed my plan and headed for Georgia and Life Chiropractic College where I Graduated in 1989 . After graduation I moved my family back up to Michigan and  started my current practice.
